Kabul: Meeting Held with Operational Partners on Coordination of Emergency Assistance for Flood-Affected Families in Nuristan

Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of the ARCS, held a meeting with representatives of the ICRC, the IFRC, the Turkish Red Crescent, the Qatar Red Crescent, and the Danish and Norwegian Red Cross societies to coordinate the provision of emergency assistance for families affected by the recent floods in Nuristan Province.
During the meeting, information was provided on the human and financial losses caused by the recent floods in Nuristan Province, as well as the urgent needs of the affected families. Mawlawi Abdul Salaam stated that the ARCS has already initiated relief efforts within its available capacity; however, due to the scale of the needs, the support of operational partners remains essential. He called on all partners to work with the ARCS in providing first aid, medicines, hot meals, safe drinking water, and other essential humanitarian assistance.
The operational partners commended the ARCS for its rapid response and humanitarian services and assured to further expand their support by providing medicines, medical equipment, food and non-food items, and other essential humanitarian assistance to help meet the emergency needs of flood-affected families in Nuristan.
The ARCS strives, in cooperation with its national and international partners, to deliver timely humanitarian assistance to people affected by natural disasters and to provide an effective response to their emergency needs.
