Kabul: One-Day Disaster Management Workshop Held for ARCS Central Officials

A one-day awareness workshop was held by the IFRC for directors, advisors, and heads of independent units of the central headquarters of the ARCS, focusing on effective response to and preparedness for natural and man-made disasters.

At the opening of the workshop, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs, emphasized the importance of effective response and preparedness, describing staff capacity building in this area as a key and fundamental measure.

He also noted that addressing shortcomings leads to institutional progress, while repeating them hinders operations. He stressed the need to give special attention to improving processes to prevent such gaps, so that timely and effective services can be delivered to affected communities.

During the workshop, participants received essential information on disaster response, preparedness, and the evaluation of services.
