Uzbekistan Hands Over 250 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to ARCS

Uzbekistan handed over 250 tons of food and non-food humanitarian aid to the ARCS in Balkh Province.
The assistance was handed over during an official ceremony attended by Mawlawi Noorulhadi Abu Idris, Deputy Governor of Balkh; Mullah Mohammad Hanif Khalid, Director of the ARCS Northern Zone; Ulughbek Qasimov, Governor of Uzbekistan’s Surkhandarya; and Otabek Suleymanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan, along with a number of other officials.
The Deputy Governor of Balkh described Uzbekistan as a country that has consistently supported Afghanistan during both natural and man-made disasters. He stated that such cooperation is valuable for the Afghan people.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan said that his country is making efforts to deliver its humanitarian assistance to those in need in Afghanistan in a timely manner, so that families affected by natural and man-made disasters receive support when it is most needed.
The Director of the ARCS Northern Zone expressed appreciation for Uzbekistan’s continued assistance, adding that the aid would be distributed to deserving, needy, and disaster-affected citizens through a transparent process.
He emphasized that the ARCS strives to distribute humanitarian assistance fairly, based on the needs of the people.
The aid package includes flour, cooking oil, rice, sugar, beans, macaroni, canned cooked meat, bottled water, milk, and biscuits.
