Kandahar: Discussions Held on Expanding Support and Health Services for Returning Refugees

During his official visit to Kandahar Province, ARCS Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman met with the Head of the Kandahar Zone and a number of international partners to discuss the expansion of humanitarian and health cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Alhaj Mawlawi Abdul Samad Sani, Head of the Kandahar Zone; Dr. Hossam Faysal, Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan; Dr. Chris Elias, Head of Global Development at the BMGF Project; and the project’s Senior Program Officer, Ana Maria Guzmán.
During the meeting, the participants held comprehensive discussions and exchanged views on the situation of returning refugees, their basic needs, health services, the implementation of the polio vaccination campaign, the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance, and the further expansion of ARCS services.
Hafiz Azizur Rahman emphasized the importance of coordination and joint cooperation between ARCS and its international partners. He stated that joint efforts should be further strengthened to support returning refugees, enhance the capacity of health centers, improve the quality of health services, and ensure the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Both sides emphasized the continuation of humanitarian cooperation, the expansion of health services, support for returning refugees, and the further strengthening of joint efforts to effectively address the needs of vulnerable people.
