Kabul: Five-Day Training Workshop Begins on Rational Medicine Use for Mobile Health Teams

A five-day training workshop on the rational use of medicines for doctors and pharmacists working with mobile health teams has begun at the central headquarters of the ARCS.

The workshop is being organized with financial support from the Danish Red Cross, Norwegian Red Cross, and the IFRC and is attended by 25 health staff from mobile health teams of Nangarhar, Kunar, Nuristan, Paktia, Paktika, Herat, and Nimroz provinces. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of the ARCS, said that human life and health are of the utmost importance and called on health staff to carry out their responsibilities with full attention and care when providing treatment and health services to patients.

He emphasized the importance of the proper use of medicines and urged participants to provide patients with clear instructions on the use of medicines, ensure the proper management and distribution of medicines, and make effective use of the knowledge and skills gained from the training in their daily work.

During the workshop, participants are receiving training on the rational use of medicines, proper management and storage of medicines at the mobile health team level, monthly reporting, and providing patients with appropriate guidance on the use of medicines.

Participants are also receiving practical training on recording and organizing medicines, requesting medicines according to needs, and explaining the treatment method, dosage, and timing to patients.

The workshop aims to strengthen the professional knowledge and practical skills of doctors and pharmacists working with mobile health teams and enhance their capacity to promote the rational use of medicines and provide patients with proper guidance on their treatment.

Through strengthening the professional capacity of healthcare workers, the ARCS strives to provide timely, quality, and effective health services to people in need.
