To Enhance Coordination and Attract Humanitarian Aid an Online Meeting was Convened between the Leadership of ARCS and its Partners!
Today, Wednesday, the 26th March, Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, the Acting General President of ARCS, along with Hafiz Aziz Ul Rahman, the Vice-president, and Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, the Acting Secretary-General, held an online meeting at the headquarters of this national humanitarian organization with 47 international partners in the presence of Ahmad Suleiman, the Head of IFRC in Afghanistan, and Huma Nader, the Manager of Strategic Coordination and Diplomacy. The meeting centered on fortifying sustained support for ARCS, enhancing the level of coordination, and seeking humanitarian aid to support the vulnerable and headless families, patients, repatriated refugees and several other important issues.
At the start of the meeting, the acting General President briefed upon the humanitarian, healthcare, and educational services of ARCS nationwide. He underscored that decades of conflict and economic hardships have severely affected the Afghan people and supporting them is a collective responsibility of all, including national societies and international stakeholders.
Further, Mr. Delawar solicited enhanced support for the expansion of
Marastoons, basic health clinics, and mobile health teams. He also emphasized on the treatment of children suffering from congenital heart defects, provision of emergency assistance to returning refugees, and fostering self-reliance among headless families through the development of small-scale enterprises. Meanwhile he assured them that all their assistance would be delivered with utmost transparency to those in dire need.
Subsequently, representatives of the ICRC, IFRC, and participating national societies commended the humanitarian services of ARCS. They pledged to sustain their unwavering support with this national humanitarian organization and reaffirmed the commitment to jointly work and address issues raised by the Acting General President.
