Acting President of ARCS Meets with IFRC Deputy Head in Afghanistan to Discuss Expansion of Services for Newly Repatriated Refugees

During a visit to Herat Province, Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, Acting President of ARCS, along with an accompanying delegation, met with Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, Deputy Head of IFRC in Afghanistan. The meeting focused on enhancing the scope of services being provided to the recently repatriated refugees.  

During the meeting, Mr. Delawar underscored the importance of the IFRC’s field presence, particularly among returnees. He noted that individuals returning from neighboring countries confront multifaceted humanitarian challenges. However, he expressed appreciation for the uninterrupted provision of essential relief services, including hot meals, clean drinking water, and healthcare, being delivered by ARCS personnel and volunteers across refugee camps.

Mr. Delawar also commended the tireless efforts of ARCS teams in refugee camps, particularly at the Islam Qala camp and called for continued focus on the urgent needs of returnees. 

Mr. Suleiman, in turn, expressed appreciation for ARCS’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in the camps, describing these efforts as vital in addressing the immediate needs of repatriated families. He pledged continued collaboration and support.
