Wednesday, June 25, 2025

The Acting General President of ARCS, Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delwar, along with Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman, convened a high-level meeting with key humanitarian stakeholders at the ARCS headquarters to deliberate on enhanced support for returnees and challenges they face.

The meeting brought together representatives from ICRC, IFRC, and Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies of Qatar, Türkiye, Denmark, and Norway operating in Afghanistan.

During the meeting, Mr. Delawar expressed deep appreciation for the multifaceted cooperation of the partner organizations and called for the expansion of essential and emergency assistance, particularly in areas of supporting returnees, addressing their needs, and facilitating their safe reintegration.

He emphasized that addressing the pressing needs of returnees is a shared responsibility among humanitarian entities. He assured partners of full accountability and transparency in aid distribution. Mr. Delawar also added that, alongside volunteers, dedicated staff have been deployed to provide uninterrupted support and essential services within temporary shelters for returnees.

In response, partner organizations reiterated their commitment to delivering humanitarian assistance, including food and non-food items, temporary shelter, health services, and safe transportation to home regions while pledging to continue support in line with the evolving needs of returnees across various sectors.
