Tailoring and Embroidery Training Centers Launched for Widowed Women in Balkh Province!

Today, on Tuesday, 24th of December, Afghan Red Crescent Society inaugurated nine vocational training centers in various districts of Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh Province. The initiative aims to empower headless widowed women by providing them with tailoring and embroidery skills.

Funded by the Qatar Red Crescent, the centers will offer three-month training courses to 100 widowed women. Each participant in the tailoring program will receive 26 essential items, while those enrolled in the embroidery training will be provided with 14 tools and materials necessary for their craft.

The total cost of the equipment and materials amounts to approximately 1,220,000 AFN . This effort seeks to promote self-sufficiency among widowed women, equipping them with the skills and resources to earn a sustainable livelihood.
