Switzerland Hands Over 20 Tons of Aid to ARCS to Support Kunar Earthquake Victims

The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has delivered 20 tons of non-food humanitarian assistance to meet the basic needs of Kunar  earthquake victims. The aid was formally handed over at Kabul International Airport to Mr. Mohammad Saleh Akhundzada, Director of the Disaster Management at the ARCS, by Pamela Stathakis, Deputy Head of SDC in Kabul and Advisor Ahmad Saleem.
Mr. Akhundzada expressed deep appreciation for SDC’s humanitarian support and emphasized that the assistance would be distributed transparently to the earthquake-impacted communities in Kunar.
In her remarks, Ms. Stathakis highlighted SDC’s commitment to addressing the needs of people impacted by natural disasters in Afghanistan. She also pledged to provide further assistance to support the relief and well-being of the earthquake-affected communities in Kunar.
The shipment includes 310 tents and 300 packages of winter clothing, which will soon be delivered to affected households in the province.
