Safer Access: One-Day Workshop Held for Officials of Central Headquarters

A one-day workshop on Safer Access was held by the ICRC in Afghanistan for the directors of central headquarters, advisors to the leadership, and heads of independent units of the ARCS.
Opening the workshop, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of ARCS, delivered remarks on the importance, objectives, and necessity of the workshop. He stated that the components of Safer Access are pivotal to ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of humanitarian assistance, emphasizing that ARCS staff must pay careful attention to safety and Safer Access principles while performing their duties.
He added that Safer Access is particularly important for the proper organization of activities, and that joint cooperation and coordination in this area can bring about positive changes in the expansion of humanitarian services and the provision of support to vulnerable families.
During the workshop, participants received detailed information on the eight components of Safer Access, safety measures during humanitarian operations, and strategies for maintaining an effective presence in the field. The goal was to enable operational teams to carry out their work in a safe and secure environment.
