As part of ongoing assistance to returning refugees, under the directive of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, and with support from the Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD, and IHH, 85.5 metric tons of food and non-food aid were distributed today to 1,000 families who returned from neighboring countries in Parwan province, including the provincial capital and the districts of Kohistan-e-Safi, Sayed Khail, Jabal Saraj, and Salang.
Each family received 50 kg of flour, 5 liters of cooking oil, 10 kg of lentils, 5 kg of chickpeas, 5 kg of sugar, 2 kg of macaroni, one can of tomato paste, one packet of Cerelac, one blanket, two bottles of dishwashing liquid, three packets of laundry detergent, along with several other essential household items.
During the distribution ceremony, Mr. Delawar welcomed the refugees and said, “I am happy that you have returned to your country. It is a matter of gratitude that from now on you will spend the rest of your lives in your homeland, under the shadow of complete independence and security.”
He added that Afghanistan is a shared home for all, and with patience and strong determination, the existing challenges faced by the returnees will be resolved and their lives gradually restored to normal.
Mr. Delawar also emphasized, “The ARCS is always at the service of the people, and special attention will be given to the challenges faced by returning refugees.”
