Acting President of Afghan Red Crescent met Acting Director of UNAMA in Afghanistan and deputy special envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Political Affairs!

Mr. Mawlavi Matiulh.a.q "khalis" Acting President of Afghan Red Crescent, met Markus Potzel, Acting Director of UNAMA in Afghanistan and deputy special envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Political Affairs, who has served as a German Ambassador as well a special envoy of Germany to Afghanistan.

Mr. Mawlavi Matiulhaq "khalis" Acting General President of Afghan Red Crescent, told in meeting that, "Afghan Red Crescent is a non-political society and will never engage in politics".

He said, "If the United Nations allocate share toAfghan Red Crescent in the cash box created for Afghanistan, then Afghan Red Crescent is be able to deliver aid to every corner of the country with full transparency."

He told that, "ARCS is non-budgetary unit of the government, we carry out most of the work with our working partners via joint cooperation". He added that, "in less than one year Afghan Red Crescent has helped more than 200,000 families across the country, & we are planning to provide food & non-food items for further 70,000 families across the country".

Mr. Maulvi Matiulhaq "khalis"further told that, "the health sector is considered one of the prominent part of ARCS activities after provision of services in disaster field. Currently, we have about 150 health centers all over the country, and through these centers more than five million citizens have been served in the last one year".

In the meeting, Mr. Marcus Potzel told,

"ARCS is a great humanitarian organization in Afghanistan. I am happy to serve in Afghanistan and I am happy to cooperate with Afghan Red Crescent Society".

He told that, "I will try to get hold of the ARCS through the United Nations and pave the way for bilateral cooperation in the field of heart treatment in Germany."

He said, "I would endeavor to boost up ties between International community and Afghan Red Crescent Society ".
