Thursday, August 13, 2026
The ARCS launched two cash-for-work projects in Kala Gaw and Boz Qandahari villages of Kunduz city, with financial support from the ICRC.
Through these projects, 213 skilled and unskilled local workers will be employed for one month. Each skilled worker will receive a daily wage of AFN 1,000, while each unskilled worker will receive AFN 500 per day.
As part of the projects, a number of public-benefit activities will be carried out, including the excavation of canals, construction of water dams and culverts, and construction of stone walls reinforced with wire mesh to protect the banks of waterways.
These projects provide temporary employment and income opportunities for families in need. At the same time, by constructing and rehabilitating public infrastructure, they will help address some of the needs of local residents.
