Kabul: Ten-Day Training Workshop Begins on Effective Project Management and Standard Proposal Writing

A ten-day training workshop on advanced project management, proposal writing, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning was launched by the Planning Unit at the central headquarters of the ARCS.

The workshop is being conducted with financial support from the Danish Red Cross and technical support from Lazuli Pamir Consulting Engineering Services Company. Directors from the program departments of the ARCS central headquarters, along with a number of managers and staff members, are participating in the workshop.

At the opening of the workshop, the General President of the ARCS, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, emphasized the importance of selecting qualified individuals and assigning them appropriate duties and responsibilities to ensure the effective conduct of affairs. He said that responsibilities should be entrusted to the right people so that positive changes can be brought about in the development of the institution. He also stressed that training programs should be used effectively and that the knowledge gained should be applied in practical work.

During the workshop, participants will receive information on project design and management, analysis of needs and problems, development of project logical frameworks and indicators, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, data collection, quality and analysis, reporting, evidence-based decision-making, work planning, division of responsibilities, risk management, and preparedness for project implementation.

Practical group work will also be conducted on project implementation, monitoring, reporting and completion; development of proposals in accordance with donor standards; organization of needs, outcomes, activities and indicators; accountability and risk management; coordination of budgets and activities; and assessment of the quality and standards of proposals.

The workshop aims to enhance the professional capacities of participants in project design, management, monitoring and evaluation, as well as in developing standard proposals in accordance with donor standards, and to ensure the practical application of the knowledge and skills gained.
