Kabul: Safer Access Committee Holds Coordination Meeting

A coordination meeting of the Safer Access Committee was held under the chairmanship of Mawlawi Ruhollah Abdul Salam, Under-Secretary General of Operational Affairs of the ARCS, with the participation of representatives from the ARCS, the ICRC, IFRC, and the Norwegian and Danish Red Cross Societies.
During the meeting, participants discussed and exchanged views on the approval of the ARCS Law, the standardization of staff identification cards, the uniform guidelines, the standard operating procedures for crisis communications, strengthening coordination and cooperation among the various departments of the Society, the effective implementation of the Safer Access Framework, preventing the misuse of the National Society’s name and emblem, and expanding public awareness programs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Abdul Salam emphasized the importance of implementing the previous decisions of the Safer Access Committee and urged the relevant officials to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the agreed coordination mechanisms and timeline to ensure the effective implementation of the Safer Access Program.
The objective of the Safer Access Program is to enable ARCS personnel to provide services to vulnerable and people in need safely, impartially, and in accordance with humanitarian principles.
In cooperation with its national and international partners, the ARCS continues its efforts to strengthen the principles of safe access, enhance institutional coordination, and create a safe and reliable working environment for humanitarian activities.
