Kabul: Meeting Held Between ARCS and Norwegian Red Cross to Expand Cooperation

General President of the ARCS, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, and Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman held a meeting with Mr. Hakon Jakob, Head of Operations of the Norwegian Red Cross, and Mr. Vinay Vilas SadaVarte, Regional Representative of the NRC for Asia, to discuss strengthening and expanding humanitarian cooperation.
During the meeting, Mr. Delawar expressed appreciation for the support of the Norwegian Red Cross in assisting disaster-affected people, women without guardians, and children, as well as in the areas of health services and staff training, describing the assistance as effective and impactful.
He also provided information on the ARCS’s ongoing activities and future plans across the country in the areas of health, disaster management, and support for the self-reliance of vulnerable families.
He emphasized that the ARCS is an independent national society and carries out its work with neutrality and independence. He called on the Norwegian Red Cross to further expand its cooperation in supporting needy and affected families, assuring that the ARCS is fully prepared to facilitate all necessary arrangements in this regard.
Mr. Jakob praised the humanitarian work of the ARCS, stating that the Norwegian Red Cross will continue its cooperation with the organization as a close partner.
He also noted that an official from the World Bank in Norway had expressed interest during a meeting in supporting health services in Afghanistan.
