Thursday, October 9, 2025

The ARCS, with the support of the ICRC, has completed and handed over a Cash-for-Work infrastructure project valued at three million Afghanis in Dand-e-Patan District of Paktia Province.
The project, completed within one month and officially handed over for public use, aimed to excavate 292 meters of irrigation canals, clear 38 karezes (traditional underground water tunnels), construct a 31-meter standard siphon, and build three culverts.
Through this initiative, 125 skilled and unskilled laborers were provided with employment opportunities, with each skilled worker receiving a daily wage of 800 Afghanis and each unskilled worker receiving 400 Afghanis per day.
