ICRC Pledges Seven Land Cruisers to ARCS to Strengthen Humanitarian Operations

Vice President of the ARCS, Hafiz Azizur Rahman, held a meeting in his office with Mr. Rabih El Faqih, Head of Cooperation for ICRC in Afghanistan, to discuss the challenges faced by repatriated refugees, their critical needs, and opportunities to expand humanitarian assistance.
During the meeting, Mr. Hafiz Azizur Rahman expressed his appreciation for the ICRC’s continued support and cooperation since the onset of refugee returns from neighboring countries. He provided a detailed overview of the current situation, ongoing challenges, and urgent needs of the returnees.  He further appealed for enhanced support in the provision of temporary shelters, emergency relief, and essential facilities within refugee camps.
In response, Mr. El Faqih welcomed the updated information regarding the returnees. He pledged that in addition to efforts in providing access to clean drinking water, cash assistance, and healthcare services for returnees, the ICRC will donate seven Land Cruisers to ARCS to help strengthen its humanitarian operations.
