Today, on the 1st of November, Mr. Badar Muhammad Ali Alzabi, the head of the delegation of Oman welfare foundation, handed over approximately 80 tones of aid, worth; 255,609 Omani Riyal to Mr. Mawlavi Matiul Haq Khalis, the Acting President of ARCS in the presence of other local officials, at Khawaja Abdullah Ansari International Airport, Herat province. This humanitarian aid consignment represents the initial round of the assistance of Oman to Afghanistan, that was arranged and delivered by Air to Herat Afghanistan,following a meeting between the Acting President of Afghan Red Crescent and aid organizations from Oman in Saudi Arabia. The aid included 20 tonnes of flour, 7 tonnes of soje flour, 2.5 tonnes of corn oil, 5 tonne of sugar, 15 tonne of medicines,approximately 2000kg weight carpet, approximately 215,00 kg weight tents, and other cloth items, and about 5000 kg kitchen wares. During a media interaction, Mr. Mawlavi Matiul Haq, the Acting President of Afghan Red Crescent, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Al Haya Al-Amaniya Al-Khairiya Foundation of Oman for their valuable assistance to ARCS during these challenging circumstances.  Mr. Mawlavi Matiul Haq stated that Afghan Red Crescent has been actively seeking international aid since the first day of the recent earthquake in Herat. He emphasized the organization's commitment to ongoing efforts to attract assistance from international community. In regards to the foreign aid received, Mr. Mawlavi Matiul Haq Khalis expressed gratitude for the food and non-food items provided. However, he requested that international aid organizations shall extend their support to Afghan Red Crescent in constructing houses for families affected by the earthquake. Specifically, he highlighted the urgency of providing shelter before the onset of winter to protect these families from the harsh cold weather. Badr Muhammad Ali Al-Zaabi, the leader of the Al-Haiat al-Amaniyah Al-Khairyah delegation, while talking to the media expressed his happiness that with the collaboration and help of Afghan Red Crescent, they were able to deliver the aid to the earthquake victims in Herat province. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute towards assisting the affected people.
