With a view to developing an effective and resilient strategic plan, the ARCS convened a one-day strategic planning awareness workshop at its headquarters for the Under Secretary Generals, Directors of Central Departments, Senior Advisors, and the Heads of Independent Units. The session was held in the presence of Mr. Hafiz Azizur Rahman, Vice President of ARCS, along with Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, Deputy Head of Delegation for the IFRC in Afghanistan.

Opening the session, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under Secretary General for Operational Affairs, highlighted the importance of critically reflecting on the organization’s previous strategic plan. He emphasized ARCS’s commitment to developing a new strategy that ensures humanitarian services are delivered in a more coordinated and impactful manner. He urged the planning team to conduct a thorough evaluation of the previous plan to identify its strengths and weaknesses, in order to avoid repeating past shortcomings.

The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Juma Khan Nael, Director of Information and Dissemination, who provided participants with detailed insights into the planning process, the significance of strategic planning, its objectives, key stages, and management approaches.
