The Afghan Red Crescent Society leadership met the Norwegian Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross!
Today, on Sunday, 3rd of April 2022 Mavlawe Matiul Haq Khalis, Acting President of the Afghan Red Crescent Society and Dr. Mohammad Nabi Burhan, Secretary General of the ARCS met with Eloi Fillion, Director of International Committee of the Red Cross, Winnie Edward, Deputy Director of Norwegian Red Cross for Asian countries, Human, the Representative of Norwegian Red Cross in Kabul, and the Cooperation officer of International Committee of the Red Cross, in his office.
At the beginning, Mavlawe Matiul Haq Khalis, the Acting President of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, welcomed the guests and asked them for information about their cooperation.
In response, the director of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) provided comprehensive information on the joint cooperation, adding that the purpose of today's meeting was to work with the Afghan Red Crescent Society, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Norwegian Red Cross. Collaborate, share information on agreements and practices, and strengthen and support existing agreements.
He further said"The Norwegian Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have had bilateral agreements in many countries and now we want a similar agreement between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Norwegian Red Cross in Afghanistan and the agreement will ensure the safety of Norwegian Red Cross workers during the trip and will also provide the necessary health cooperation between both sides. We also want to take joint action in all areas where there is a need to solve problems.
Finally, the Acting President of the Afghan Red Crescent Society appreciated this move and decided to hold a trilateral meeting to coordinate further in future.
