Job Description:
Provide essential technical and logistical support to the Cath-Lab team to enable safe, efficient diagnostic and interventional procedures: prepare rooms and devices, maintain inventory and device traceability, assist patient preparation and sterile-field maintenance, support radiation-safety and emergency workflows, perform routine turnover and basic equipment checks under direction of senior Cath-lab staff.
Key responsibilities:
1.      Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for lists: set up monitors, suction, infusion pumps, pressure transducers, table, oxygen/air lines and procedure-specific disposables; complete pre-list/start-up checklists.
2.      Unpack, inspect and arrange device/consumable kits (sheaths, guidewires, balloons, catheters); label and stage items for operator access and maintain organised stockroom layout.
3.      Assist patient preparation and safe positioning: verify patient identity/site with nursing staff, assist vascular-site preparation and help secure patient on the angiography table.
4.      Support sterile-field maintenance: assist draping, hand non-sterile items to circulating staff and promptly supply sterile items to scrub/circulating nurse under supervision.
5.      Conduct basic equipment checks before lists (monitors, pumps, suction, table movement); report faults immediately and escalate to senior staff/Biomedical Engineering.
6.      Perform post-procedure turnover: segregate waste, decontaminate surfaces and non-disposable equipment, pack reusable items for CSSD and restock consumables for next case.
7.      Maintain procedural logs and device traceability: record device serial/batch numbers, reconcile consumable usage, hand records to senior staff for patient files and assist with inventory counts/restock requests.
8.      Support cath-lab emergency workflows (tamponade, device embolisation, cardiac arrest): rapidly prepare/hand devices and assist the clinical team as directed.
9.      Perform basic peripheral troubleshooting of ancillary equipment (power resets, cable reconnections) and assist with simple stock/orders; escalate technical faults per protocol.
10.  Adhere to radiation-safety and IPC requirements: use shielding/dosimetry, follow sharps and waste procedures, maintain English records for HMIS/audit and communicate effectively in local languages with the team.
Job Requirements:
•    Certificate/diploma in Allied Health, Medical Laboratory Technology, Radiography,
•    Operating Theatre Assistant, Nursing Assistant, or equivalent vocational qualification.
•    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred:
·        Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology suite or high-acuity OT.
·        Training/certificate in Cath-lab assistive tasks, radiation-safety awareness or sterile processing basics.
·        ACLS/PALS desirable.
Minimum experience
·        1–3 years clinical allied-health or technical experience in a hospital setting; at least 12 months exposure to procedural areas (OT, IR suite, cath-lab) preferred.
