Kunduz: AFN 3.4 Million Paid to 213 Workers under Cash-for-Work Project

The ARCS paid AFN 3.4 million to 213 skilled and unskilled workers in Kala-e-Gaw and Boz Qandahari villages in Kunduz City under a cash-for-work project.

The workers worked for one month cleaning and rehabilitating canals and constructing water dams and gabions.

The two projects were implemented with financial support from the ICRC, with a total cost of AFN 5.9 million. More than 11 kilometers of canals were cleaned and rehabilitated, while water dams and gabions were also constructed.

The projects aimed to provide local residents with employment and income opportunities, ease their economic difficulties, and improve the condition of water channels in the area.

Through cash-for-work projects, the ARCS provides employment opportunities while also contributing to the rehabilitation of water channels.
