On the Occasion of the Arrival of Ramadan: Comprehensive Humanitarian Assistance Distributed to 583 Repatriated Families in Panjshir
Wednesday, February 11, 2026
Under the directive of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, and with support from the Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD, and IHH, 12 types of food and non-food items were distributed to 583 repatriated families in Panjshir Province.
Each family received 25 kg of flour, 10 kg of rice, 10 liters of cooking oil, 10 kg of chickpeas, 10 kg of macaroni, 1 can of tomato paste, 4 bottles of dishwashing liquid, 2 bottles of handwashing liquid, 4 packets of laundry detergent, 4 health kits, and other essential items.
The distribution ceremony was attended by ARCS advisors Qazi Mohammad Hassan Haqyar, Mawlawi Mohammad Osman Baloch, and Mohammad Hashim Zahidi; the Deputy Governor of Panjshir Province, Rohullah Shah Malang; and the Director of the ARCS Panjshir Branch, Mawlawi Mudasir Hamraz.
Speaking at the event, ARCS advisor Mr. Haqyar described the assistance as especially valuable given the cold winter conditions and the approaching holy month of Ramadan. He noted that the support would help ease the families’ basic needs to some extent.
He further reaffirmed that the ARCS remains committed to supporting repatriated refugees and that its assistance to them will continue as in the past.
The Deputy Governor of Panjshir also expressed his appreciation for the wide-ranging humanitarian services provided by ARCS. He stated that the organization has consistently played a leading role in assisting returning citizens, particularly during the harsh winter season, and voiced hope that such support would continue on a regular basis.
The assistance was provided to help meet the families’ short-term food and non-food needs.
It is worth noting that similar humanitarian aid was distributed to 417 repatriated families in the same province some time ago.
