ARCS President Meets New Acting Head of the IFRC for Afghanistan to Address Refugee Challenges

Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, President of the ARCS, held a high-level meeting with Mr. Joy Singhal, New Acting Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan, alongside Deputy Head Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, to strengthen humanitarian coordination for returning refugees.
During the meeting, President Delawar expressed his gratitude for the sustained support of partner organizations, particularly the IFRC. He emphasized that providing emergency relief, essential healthcare, safe drinking water, and temporary shelter remains a top priority for ARCS. He further noted that the number of Afghans returning to the country has recently increased, creating an urgent need for expanded humanitarian assistance.
Mr. Singhal pledged to address the challenges of returnees, provide hot meals, emergency relief, and sustained humanitarian support through ARCS to jointly ensure timely response to the needs of refugees and vulnerable communities.
