Food Assistance Distributed to 581 Destitute and Impoverished Families at Kabul Central Marastoon!
Today, Wednesday, the 12th of March, ARCS with financial support of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation distributed in total 22.659 tons of food assistance to 581 destitute and impoverished families from various districts of Kabul in the presence of Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, the Acting General President of ARCS, Cenk Unal, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Afghanistan, Dr. Emrah Kan Demir, the Adviser of Diyanet Foundation to Afghanistan, and some directors of the central departments.
During the event, Mr, Delawar besides welcoming the Turkish ambassador and representatives of Diyanet Foundation expressed appreciation for the unwavering and continued humanitarian assistance of the friendly and brotherly country of Türkiye. He appreciated the recent assistance of Diyanet Foundation to support 1819 destitute and impoverished families not only in Kabul but also in Herat and Farah Provinces. Further, he lauded the previous large-scale contribution of food and non-food items by Türkiye with ARCS for the support of Afghans and appreciated its instrumental role in the renovation of Herat Marastoon building and their sustained support across various sectors.
Subsequently, Mr. Unal, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Afghanistan, commended the humanitarian initiatives of ARCS and thanked for its role in facilitating aid delivery to destitute, impoverished and disaster-affected Afghans. He underscored the relations of Türkiye and Afghanistan as historical and deep-rooted and stated that supporting Afghans and providing sustained aid to them is their historical responsibility.
Later on , the Advisor of Diyanet Foundation briefed about their humanitarian efforts across various provinces of the country and expressed gratitude to ARCS for its cooperation in the transparent distribution of aid.
It is noteworthy that as part of the latest initiative, each family received two packages of food items, including flour, beans, sugar, tea, macaroni, tomato paste, and salt.
