IFRC: We Remain Committed to Supporting ARCS in the Wake of this Critical Situation

In response to the devastating earthquake that struck Kunar, Laghman, and Nuristan provinces, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of the ARCS, met with Mr. Joy Singhal, Acting Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan, along with Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, IFRC Programs Manager, to discuss assistance for earthquake victims and the provision of emergency relief.
During the discussions, Mr. Abdul Salaam expressed gratitude for the IFRC’s ongoing support, while also sharing updated information on the scale of human and financial losses in the affected eastern region. He emphasized that the disaster is severe and that those impacted are in need of wide-ranging humanitarian assistance.
Mr. Singhal reaffirmed IFRC’s commitment to provide comprehensive humanitarian support to earthquake-affected communities. He stressed that helping the Afghan people is a shared human responsibility and pledged full support to ARCS.
