The Process of the Treatment and Surgeries of the Patients with Congenital Heart Defects as per the Agreement between ARCS and OIC in Afghanistan has Commenced!

Today, Wednesday, May 7th, with the technical support of ARCS and financial support of the OIC in Afghanistan, 30 children diagnosed with congenital heart defects were formally referred to local hospitals for treatment and surgeries.

The event was attended by Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, the Acting General President, Hafiz Azizur Rahman, the Vice-president, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, the Acting Secretary General of ARCS, and Mohammad Saeed Al-Ayyash, the Director General of OIC in Afghanistan.
During the ceremony, the Acting General President stated, “In addition to providing timely and transparent humanitarian assistance to vulnerable individuals, returnees, and those affected by disasters, ARCS offers free medication and healthcare services to dozens of destitute and needy patients through its healthcare centers.”

Further, Mr. Delawar expressed his gratitude to OIC for fully funding the treatment of the 30 children diagnosed with congenital heart defects. He added that to date, approximately 15,000 children suffering from this disease have been registered with ARCS for medical treatment and are currently awaiting their turn. Mr. Delawar affirmed ARCS’s commitment to construct a fully equipped hospital exclusively for the treatment of congenital heart disease in the near future.

In turn, the Director General of OIC in Afghanistan pledged to sustain their support with ARCS and start new humanitarian projects.

He called upon other international aid agencies to expand their support with ARCS in delivering humanitarian assistance.
