ARCS and ICRC Hold Joint Meeting on Strengthening Humanitarian Efforts

Wednesday, November 19, 2025

Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, accompanied by Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman, met with Mr. Rabi Al Faqih, Head of Cooperation for the ICRC in Afghanistan. The meeting focused on enhancing joint humanitarian initiatives and advancing the capacity-building of ARCS health-sector trainers.
During the discussion, Mr. Delawar expressed his appreciation to operational partners, particularly the ICRC, for their sustained support in natural disaster management and financial assistance. He assured the delegation that ARCS remains committed to promptly addressing challenges affecting joint operations. He further emphasized that delivering timely humanitarian services to disaster-affected families, returning refugees, families without guardians, and other vulnerable groups require strengthened and continued support from humanitarian partners.
In response, Mr. Al Faqih reaffirmed the ICRC’s commitment to ongoing cooperation with the ARCS. He pledged that, in addition to continuing assistance for vulnerable and disaster-affected communities, the ICRC will next year maintain its support for capacity-building of health-sector trainers, provision of clean water to drought-affected people, and efforts to trace individuals who went missing during past crises.
