ARCS Acting President Meets IFRC Deputy Head for Afghanistan to Strengthen Humanitarian Cooperation

Kabul - Wednesday, July 16, 2025

Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, Acting President of the ARCS, held talks at his office with Mr. Ahmad Suleiman, Deputy Head of Delegation for the IFRC in Afghanistan to discuss expanding humanitarian efforts and improving coordination.

In the meeting, Mr. Delawar outlined the current challenges facing the Afghan people, particularly vulnerable groups such as orphaned and impoverished families. He noted that ARCS, operating with limited resources, cannot address these challenges independently. In this context, he appealed to the IFRC to facilitate broader international engagement by mobilizing support through other national societies and humanitarian partners.

Mr. Suleiman agreed that supporting vulnerable communities is a shared responsibility. He pledged to organize an online dialogue with officials from several national societies to explore ways to strengthen collaboration and ensure more coordinated and effective aid delivery to affected communities.
