ARCS: 49 Children Return from Germany After Treatment; 75 Others Sent for Specialized Care

Thursday, November 6, 2025

Forty-nine children with severe burn injuries and osteomyelitis, sent by the ARCS to Germany for advanced medical treatment, have returned home fully recovered. Meanwhile, an additional 75 children were sent to Germany to receive specialized care.
During a formal ceremony at Kabul International Airport, Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, described this initiative as a significant humanitarian endeavor. He expressed joy over the recovery and safe return of the treated children and offered sincere prayers for the well-being of those departing for treatment abroad.
At a separate handover event organized to reunite the recovered children with their families, Mr. Delawar extended heartfelt congratulations to the parents and thanked Peace Village International for its steadfast cooperation with ARCS in facilitating the treatment of these children.
Representing Peace Village International, Mr. Jan Jessen provided an in-depth briefing on the treatment process and assured the delivery of high-standard medical services to the referred patients. He also expressed appreciation for ARCS’s continued coordination and facilitation of the program within Afghanistan.
As a gesture of support, each recovered child received a cash grant of 50 euros alongside essential medications.
It is worth noting that, under the bilateral agreement signed between ARCS and Peace Village International in 1368 (1989), Afghan children aged between one and eleven suffering from severe burns or bone infections are sent to Germany twice annually to receive specialized medical treatment.
