A total of 1,271 metric tons of food and non-food humanitarian assistance, sent by the Turkish Red Crescent, AFAD, and IHH, was formally handed over to Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, by Tezcan Qazioglu, the Consul General of Türkiye in Herat, at the Rozanak Port of Herat province.
The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Naeem Karimi, Head of the Turkish Red Crescent in Afghanistan; the Governor of Herat, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlana Noor Ahmad Islam Jar; regional, central, and provincial ARCS directors; and representatives of AFAD and IHH.
During the ceremony, Mr. Delawar expressed his gratitude to Türkiye for its consistent support and emphasized that the aid will be delivered to vulnerable and disaster-affected families with full transparency. He added that ARCS continues its humanitarian efforts across all provinces, and this new assistance will enable the expansion of its relief operations.
Speaking about the shipment, Mr. Qazioglu stated, “These 1,271 tons of food and non-food assistance have been sent to Afghanistan to support families affected by natural and man-made disasters. The Turkish Red Crescent and other charitable organizations will continue to stand with and support the Afghan people under all circumstances.”
It is worth noting that in the 11th shipment, Türkiye also sent hundreds of tons of food and non-food assistance, which the ARCS distributed transparently to eligible and vulnerable families across the country.
