The ARCS launched a project to construct a retaining wall along a canal in the Sad Marda area of Tarinkot, the capital of Uruzgan Province, to prevent potential damage caused by floods.
As part of the project, a 300-meter-long retaining wall will be constructed along the canal at a total cost of AFN 3.2 million.
Through the project, 34 skilled and unskilled workers will be employed, providing temporary employment opportunities for people in need from the local community.
The project is being implemented with financial support from the ICRC, with the aim of preventing potential damage to agricultural lands caused by floodwaters.
