The ARCS inaugurated a specialized hospital for the treatment of heart diseases, equipped with advanced medical equipment and staffed by specialist doctors, during a special inauguration ceremony.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan; Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS; ARCS Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman; officials from government institutions; representatives of international partners; religious scholars; healthcare professionals; national businessmen; and officials and staff of the ARCS.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hafiz Azizur Rahman, ARCS Vice President, described the inauguration of the hospital as an important step toward expanding healthcare services in the country. He stated that, from now on, patients suffering from congenital heart defects will receive free treatment and cardiac surgery services at a fully equipped and standard hospital. He added that although the ARCS had previously covered the treatment costs of such patients in private hospitals through its own financial resources, these services will now be provided at its own specialized hospital.

The Director of the hospital, Dr. Abdul Wali Atmanzai, said that the hospital is equipped with advanced medical equipment, a 24-hour specialist medical team, and all necessary facilities, and will provide healthcare services to cardiac patients in accordance with international standards.

Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of Administrative Affairs, described the inauguration of the hospital as a significant achievement in strengthening the country’s healthcare services. He said that with the hospital becoming operational, thousands of patients who previously faced difficulties traveling abroad for treatment will now receive free, high-quality, and standard healthcare services within their own country.

The General President of the ARCS stated that up to 2,000 patients with congenital heart defects will receive free treatment at the hospital each year. He also called on international humanitarian organizations, national businessmen, and charitable citizens to further strengthen their cooperation with the ARCS’s humanitarian and healthcare programs, so that treatment can be made available to even more patients in need.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mohammad Qasim Khalid, Chairman of the Reform Commission, and national businessman Alhaj Mohammad Younus Mohmand described the inauguration of the hospital as a major advancement for the country’s healthcare sector and emphasized the importance of continued support for the ARCS’s humanitarian and healthcare programs.

With the cooperation of its national and international partners, the ARCS strives to expand healthcare services across the country, treat patients in need, and provide standard healthcare facilities in order to deliver life-saving services to even more people.
