Herat: 222 Goats Distributed to 111 Returnee Families

The ARCS, with financial support from the Danish and Austrian Red Cross Societies and the Austrian Development Agency, distributed 222 goats to 111 returnee families in Rabat-e-Sangi, Zindah Jan, Guzara and Injil districts of Herat Province.

Under this assistance, each family received two goats along with the necessary feed to care for them. The total cost of the assistance was AFN 2.775 million.

In addition, all the goats were vaccinated against animal diseases at the time of distribution.

The assistance aims to help returnee families rebuild their livelihoods, strengthen their sources of income and achieve greater economic self-reliance through goat rearing.

Through livelihood assistance, the ARCS strives to support the economic empowerment of returnee families, help establish sustainable sources of income and promote their self-reliance.
