The ARCS, with financial support from the IFRC, has provided access to safe drinking water for 270 internally displaced families in the Alisher and Gurbuz districts of Khost Province.

The director of the ARCS Khost Provincial Branch, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mohammad Wali Jan Adalat Yar, said that these families previously had limited access to safe drinking water, and the use of unsafe water sources had exposed children to various illnesses.

He added that the initiative was implemented to address this challenge and ensure that affected communities have reliable access to safe drinking water.

Under the project, ten water storage tanks, each with a capacity of 1,000 liters, have been installed in the targeted areas. The tanks will be refilled daily by water tankers, enabling families to use the water for drinking and other essential household needs.

The project aims to improve access to safe water, reduce water shortages, and help prevent waterborne diseases.

The ARCS strives to support vulnerable and displaced families through clean water and health programs designed to improve living conditions and reduce health risks.
