ARCS and Danish Red Cross Deepen Cooperation to Support Repatriated Refugees

Sunday, July 20, 2025

Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, Acting President of the ARCS, along with Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman, held a high-level meeting with Mohammad Al-Shama, Country Head of the Danish Red Cross (DRC) in Afghanistan, and his delegation to explore enhanced support for returning refugees.
During the discussion, Mr. Delawar highlighted the organization’s continued efforts in providing essential humanitarian services, including healthcare, food, water, and temporary shelter to repatriated families. He stressed that the compounded challenges caused by persistent drought, displacement, and unemployment have significantly increased the burden on vulnerable communities, emphasizing that the scope of existing needs far exceeds available resources. He called for increased humanitarian support to meet these growing needs.
Mr. Al-Shama praised the humanitarian work of ARCS and pledged to support not only returnees but also continue assisting destitute and impoverished families.
