The Health Services Department of the ARCS, with technical support from the IFRC in Afghanistan, has launched a one-day workshop to share experiences and lessons learned from a Finnish Red Cross project implemented in Herat, Badghis, and Kabul provinces from 2022 to 2025 in the areas of first aid, water, and sanitation.

The workshop is attended by staff members of the Health Services Department, heads of the Herat and Kabul regional offices, heads of the ARCS provincial branches in Kabul, Herat, and Badghis, as well as healthcare workers and volunteers.

At the opening ceremony, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of the ARCS, emphasized the importance of first aid, clean water, and sanitation. He praised the efforts of partner organizations, healthcare workers, and volunteers during the project’s implementation and highlighted the importance of sharing experiences to improve the implementation of future programs.

Dr. Abdullah Irfan, Director of Health Services at the ARCS, then noted that reviewing past activities and sharing practical experiences play an important role in improving the quality of healthcare services, identifying challenges, and strengthening the implementation of future programs.

During the workshop, participants will review the project’s achievements, challenges, experiences, and lessons learned to inform future programs and further strengthen services in first aid, water, and sanitation.
