Kabul: Discussions Held on Finalizing and Implementing the Youth and Volunteers Policy

A meeting was held between Hafiz Azizur Rahman, Vice President of the ARCS, and Jacob, a National Society Development Specialist from the Danish Red Cross headquarters, to discuss the finalization and effective implementation of the policy developed for ARCS youth and volunteers.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on strengthening youth and volunteers, finalizing the policy, and ensuring its effective implementation.

The ARCS Vice President expressed his appreciation to the Danish Red Cross for its cooperation in strengthening and developing volunteers. He said that the ARCS would continue its joint efforts with the Danish Red Cross to build volunteers’ capacities and further strengthen their role.

He also noted that a database has been established to facilitate the registration, organization, and systematic management of volunteer information, ensuring that relevant volunteer data is properly recorded and maintained.

Mr. Jacob commended the ARCS’s efforts to strengthen youth and volunteers and emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between the two organizations.

He noted that volunteers are a vital human resource for National Societies in carrying out their activities. He added that implementing the policy requires time, resources, and sustained efforts, and stressed that international standards as well as the country’s social context should be taken into consideration throughout the policy development and implementation process.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the continuation of joint cooperation to strengthen youth and volunteers, finalize the policy, and ensure its effective implementation.
