IFRC: Striving to Provide Permanent Shelter and Essential Winter Relief to Earthquake Victims in Eastern Afghanistan

Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, met with Mr. Hosam Faysal, Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan, and Program Manager Mr. Ahmad Suleiman to discuss the construction of permanent homes, supplying winter relief, and provision of long-term assistance for families affected by the recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan.
During the discussion, Mr. Delawar expressed his appreciation for the IFRC’s continued support. He highlighted the ARCS’s ongoing services for the Kunar earthquake-affected families, noting that the ARCS has been delivering aid ranging from hot meals to cash support, and that these relief activities are still underway.
He further noted that the recent earthquake in the northern zone has also affected many people who are in urgent need of comprehensive humanitarian assistance. He called on international humanitarian organizations to expand their assistance to these communities.
Mr. Faysal praised the ARCS for its ongoing humanitarian efforts in the eastern zone. He emphasized that constructing homes for affected families in Kunar province remains a top priority for the IFRC and pledged to provide essential winter supplies to them.
