Kabul: Workshop Held to Share Experiences in the Response to Earthquake-Affected People in the Northern Zone

A one-day workshop was held on the initiative of the PMER Unit of the ARCS and with the financial support of the IFRC, with the aim of sharing the experiences gained and lessons learned during the response and assistance to earthquake-affected people in the Northern Zone.
The workshop was held at the central headquarters of the ARCS, with the participation of a number of staff members from the PMER Unit and the Departments of Disaster Management, Health Services, and Youth and Volunteers, as well as staff members from the health and disaster management sections of the ARCS branches in Balkh and Samangan provinces related to the Northern Zone.
At the opening of the workshop, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salam, Under-Secretary General of Operational Affairs of the ARCS, and Dr. Mohammad Karim, Manager of the PMER Unit, spoke about the objectives and importance of the workshop.
They asked the participants to share their practical experiences, challenges, achievements, and recommendations so that the exchange of experiences could be used to strengthen preparedness and capacities for an effective response to emergencies in the future.
They emphasized the importance of such training programs in saving the lives of disaster-affected people, ensuring an effective response during emergencies, and preventing and reducing the damage caused by disasters.
It is scheduled that during the workshop, the participants will evaluate the experiences gained and lessons learned during the response to the earthquake-affected people in the Northern Zone and will share their views and recommendations for a more effective response during future disasters.
