Hafiz Azizur Rahman, ARCS Vice President, met with Sheikh-ul-Hadith Noorul Haq Anwar, Director General of Administrative Affairs, and his accompanying delegation at his office.

During the meeting, ARCS shared a comprehensive overview of its ongoing humanitarian and health services for women and children without guardians, disaster-affected communities, returning refugees, people with mental health conditions, and children suffering from congenital heart defects.

Mr. Hafiz Azizur Rahman stated that, following the earthquake in Kunar Province, the ARCS established a camp where 1,000 affected families received hot meals, healthcare services, and other essential assistance over a period of eight months. He added that the Society had also distributed cash assistance to 18,000 internally displaced families.

He further noted that, through its four camps, the ARCS has been providing hot meals and healthcare services to approximately 10,000 returning refugees each day. During the holy month of Ramadan, the Society also distributed food and non-food assistance to 1,000 returning families in each of 25 provinces.

Mr. Hafiz Azizur Rahman also highlighted that the ARCS is currently providing treatment to nearly 1,500 patients at its mental health care and treatment centers, while a number of others receive healthcare services in their homes. In addition, vocational training programs for women and children without guardians are being successfully implemented across the Society’s seven regional zones.

Sheikh-ul-Hadith Noorul Haq Anwar commended the ARCS for its humanitarian and charitable efforts, emphasizing that supporting vulnerable people and those affected by disasters is both a national and Islamic responsibility. He assured that the General Directorate of Administrative Affairs will continue its cooperation to strengthen the coordination of the humanitarian services of the ARCS and facilitate the provision of the necessary support.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Noorul Haq Anwar, accompanied by the ARCS Vice President, visited the Society’s mental health care and treatment center, residential facilities for in-house beneficiaries, the vocational training center for women without guardians, and the exhibition showcasing products made by program participants.

During the visit, he was briefed on the activities, services, and achievements of these centers and commended the ARCS for its continued efforts to further strengthen its humanitarian and social services.
