With the support of the IFRC, the ARCS provided 1,274,000 Afghanis in cash assistance during the second and final phase to 50 vulnerable female-headed households in Kandahar and 48 in Nangarhar to help establish small businesses and promote self-reliance. Each family received 13,000 Afghanis.
This cash assistance aims to improve the economic conditions of these families by enabling them to start and strengthen small income-generating activities, create sustainable sources of income, and reduce their dependence on others.
It is worth noting that nearly two million Afghanis had already been provided to these households during the first phase.
