Meeting Held to Provide Aid for Earthquake Victims in Samangan and Balkh

Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs at the ARCS, convened a meeting at the central headquarters with representatives of international humanitarian partners in Afghanistan, including the ICRC, IFRC, Turkish and Qatar Red Crescents, and the Norwegian and Danish Red Cross Societies, to discuss the provision of emergency assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake in Samangan and Balkh provinces.
Mr. Abdul Salaam briefed attendees on the ongoing efforts of the ARCS rescue teams, the delivery of initial healthcare services, and the extent of the devastation caused by the earthquake. He emphasized that the immediate needs of the affected communities exceed the capacity of current resources and appealed to partners for additional support, particularly in supplying food, clean drinking water, medicine, and other critical relief items.
International partners commended the swift and effective response of the ARCS, expressed their condolences to the affected families, and pledged their full cooperation and support to assist the earthquake victims.
